Answering The Call

Psalm 71 is a rallying cry for Christ-followers.
Especially verse 18:

"So even to old age and gray hairs,
O God, do not forsake me,
until I proclaim Your might to another generation,
Your power to all those to come.
"

Re-read line two again.
Lines three and four reveal God's mission for His people.
Line two is the consequence of disobedience:
If I don't answer God's call, He'll move on to someone who will.

God is calling us to a specific purpose.
He has mighty adventures in store for our lives.
Are we answering His call... or will He have to move onto someone else?

Watch this. I’ve watched it twice and it’s pure video poetry.

Saved People Serve People

There is no better way to share God's love than to give back to those in need. NewLife Fellowship has been given the opportunity to partner with the Community Storehouse TONIGHT to help with food distribution to many families who are in need from 5:30-8:30pm.

WE NEED YOU TO STEP UP AND COME OUT AND HELP US!

Even if you can't serve the entire time...just come out and help any time between 5:30 and 8:30.

For a map and directions to the Roanoke Client Services office of the Community Storehouse click HERE.
We will just be meeting there at 5:30pm.

Feeling Lonely?

Last week I had lunch by myself one day. As I was sitting and eating I began to let my mind wander...If people saw me alone, what would they think of me?
  • Friendless?
  • Unlovable?
  • Awkward?

Even though now, more than maybe any time in my life, I feel the arms and hearts of friends around me, but sometimes I still feel lonely.

I saw this video and it helped me realize that sometimes being alone is okay. In fact, it’s more than okay.

Lonely is a freedom that breathes easy and weightless.

Summer's Over - School Begins

Yesterday marks the end of our summer together.

Today marks the beginning of Braden's school years.

I've loved all the time we've had to spend together these last few months!

I'm not sure yet how I feel about him trudging off to Kindergarten.

That being said...prayer for me and his momma!

A Quick Update

Quick Update

I wanted to take a quick minute and update everyone on what's going on with our family.

First of all...thanks so much for all the prayers and support over the past few weeks and days. They were very much felt and evident over the duration of this difficult time.

Yesterday Terica's Dad had to say goodbye to his wife. DeAnna has been sick and in the hospital for the past 6 weeks. Yesterday she went home.

There will be a memorial tomorrow at NewLife. It will begin at 11am. We will celebrate the memories and love for DeAnna that we all shared.

Thanks again for all the love and support from our church family. We truly are blessed to be a part of such a great church.

Adventure Week Is Underway

Last night another week of adventure began for our NewLife Kids. I always get really excited this time of year because I get to take a whole week and dedicate it to teaching our kids here at NewLife.

There are many others though that make it a regular habit to give of their time and their lives to pour into our kids each and every week.

This is a picture of Joel Kulp...he's one of our lead teachers here at NewLife! Joel is not just a lead teacher here at NewLife...he is a science teacher, a father, and a great leader! He and his wife Mary have done a great job of leading their family and they have 3 incredible kids!

I am so glad to have people like Joel on our team pouring into the lives of our kids. They are much better at it than I am.

If you know any kids ages 4 to 5th grade you should get them here to NewLife this week. Doors open at 6:45pm and pick up is at 8:30pm.
