Some Random Monday Thoughts

Thought I'd take a few minutes and just share with you some of the things bouncing around in my head and I wanted to catch you up now that I'm back from a week away with the two people I love most!

First on our trip to Disneyland...
  • This was our 4th time to go to Disneyland in the past oh...4 years give or take a month or so. We just love our time spent in Southern California and there's something really special about the time we spend together at Disneyland. We already are trying to figure out when we can squeeze in another trip out there.
  • Going there always gets my creative side buzzing...that place just drips of creativity.
  • Another thing that hit me (other than how much bigger Braden is than last time I carried him on my shoulders) is that Disneyland has got to be the most international piece of real estate on the planet. It shows a great demographic of humanity...and for me, that is translating into a greater vision for the multitudes.
  • Who could have guessed going to a Disney park would be a source of that type of inspiration?

Thoughts from yesterday...

  • I'm really loving our current series that we doing called "Fearless." I mentioned yesterday that the whole reason that we're doing it is because I truly believe until we release the fears that are holding us back we can never be all that God intends for us to be.
  • REFUEL was legit! I feel like I could run through a brick wall after last night...and I'm finding my travel mug to be a very nice accessory to my day.
  • The band played a few of the new songs we're planning on doing in our Easter service...I have to say “Rise and Sing” by Steve Fee...IT WAS INCREDIBLE. In fact, the band was INCREDIBLE all together today!

Easter is on the horizon...I am really excited!

  • Invite some people to come with you Easter Sunday. And those people you've been inviting who haven't come yet...invite them again. So many times people think they are annoying people when they invite people to church…but doing so actually communicates to people that we care about them. (See Romans 10:14 and Romans 10:17)
  • So many people who are not in church think that they need to clean up their lives so that they can go to church…which is why it is SO IMPORTANT for us to communicate to people that they can some as they are (and then we can trust JESUS to take them where they need to be!)
  • I read a statistic once that said around 25% of all unchurched people said they would come to church if someone would just invite them to come!
  • It IS a tad uncomfortable to invite people to church…but the goal of Christianity is NOT comfort but rather conformity to Christ, who COMPLETELY embraced a VERY uncomfortable cross in order that we may cross over from death to life!
  • Easter is in TWO WEEKS…lets do all we can to make sure that those who need to be here are here…and then lets BEG GOD to do something amazing!

That's all for now...what are you thinking?

I'm going to be inviting the most uninvitable person I know today. I pray he comes.
